Available for Concerts together.

Paul Field : Singer/Songwriter

Mike Haughton. Saxophones and Woodwinds

Mike was born in Sydney Australia where, after studying philosophy and sociology at Sydney University, he became a full time musician. He attended the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and gained an Associate Diploma in Jazz Studies in 1981.

In 1983, Mike studied in New York before visiting London, from where he travelled widely around the UK and Europe. In 1988 he was invited to tour with Martyn Joseph and this led to permanent residential status in the UK where he has lived ever since.

In 1993 Mike played a concert with Cliff Richard, was invited to join Cliff’s touring band and has been with him ever since touring world-wide and doing numerous TV and radio appearances whilst also freelancing in the London music scene.

He lives with his Swedish wife and three young children in Surrey.

Having worked together on various projects in the past and specifically the ‘Cargo’ project in 2007 Paul & Mike would like to work together more in the future. Between them they have many years experience as professional musicians working all over the world but still really enjoy the intimate atmosphere of small ‘unplugged’ style gigs. The concerts are a mixture of songs, music, poetry, pictures, humour and conversation.

Paul & Mike travel with their own small PA system (suitable for venues up to about 300 people) but if there’s a suitable ‘in house’ system in the venue they may be happy to use that. The only essential thing we need an organiser to provide is a Piano, acoustic or electric. If possible a projector and screen would also be useful to show some images and videos with the songs (they’ll bring the Laptop). Also, whilst not essential, it’s nice if possible to have some kind of lighting to at least light the stage area. Costs are £400 + 30ppm. If they need accommodation (generally only for gigs more than about 200 miles from London) it’ll be an additional £100.

(Ticket price is obviously up to the organiser but we’ve tried to keep the costs as low as possible so that based on the above an audience of about 100 people at £5 a head will just about cover costs).

At the moment availability is pretty good between March & September apart from a few existing commitments.

I'm also still taking bookings for Cargo - solo or with full cast.
